The design direction given for this project was to create someplace discovered - a lost cottage in the mountains, something you'd see in the Scandinavian lands. Though the house was ultimately unbuilt, the design exploration led to wonderful places. 

Perched near the top of a small, grassy mountain in rural western North Carolina with extraordinary views. Various materials placed both in harmony and juxtaposition to one another, primarily wood, stucco, metal, and glass.
